Free Will Baptist Cemetery, Marker #9

(1785-1879)

Phoebe was born 22 Dec 1785 and died 26 May 1879, the daughter of Edward and Rebecca (Elwell) Crosby who are buried in the Chebogue Cemetery. Phoebe married James Kelley who is buried next to her with his own grave marker. Their daughter Mary Ann and her husband Nathaniel Sanders are also buried in the Free Will Baptist Cemetery. In addition to Mary Ann, Phoebe and James had a daughter, Margery who married Freeman Wyman. Phoebe’s sister Rebecca (Crosby) Harris is also buried in the Free Will Baptist cemetery. Her grave marker is nearby. Phoebe had a younger sister, also named Phoebe, who died at the age of 18 days.
